Issue CRLV Digital - CNH Digital

Every driver should know that there are documents that are mandatory with the vehicle, but many still have doubts about what they are. Even if you go quickly to the market or to a relative's house who is close to home, there are mandatory documents that must always be with you.

It is common for drivers to get confused because there are many names and acronyms that represent vehicle documents, but to help you clarify these terms once and for all, let's talk about each one of them and how you can go about issuing the digital CRLV and having it in the palm of your hand.

What documents do I always need to carry to drive?

The CNH (National Driving License) is the most common document that every driver needs to have on hand and needs to be renewed from time to time: every 10 years for drivers up to 49 years old and every 5 years for those over 50 to 70 years. Anyone aged 70 or over must renew every 3 years.

The IPVA payment certificate is also an important document as it is the Motor Vehicle Property Tax that must be paid every year and the rate varies depending on the state in which the vehicle was registered.

There is also the CRV (Vehicle Registration Certificate) which is used when transferring the car to another owner, whether by sale or donation. It is the old DUT, and in this document it is possible to find data with the Renavam code, make and year of the vehicle, license plate, chassis and other important information.

Finally, we have CRLV. This acronym is the abbreviation for Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate and is a very important document, as it guarantees that the vehicle is up to date with the payment of IPVA, fines and licensing, and is fit to drive on the streets.

    Can mandatory documents be digital?

As we said above, the CNH and CRLV are mandatory documents that the driver must always carry when driving and the innovation now is that they have their official digital versions. In other words, if you are stopped at an inspection, just have a cell phone on hand and present it.

For driving licenses issued after May 2017, it is possible, using the QR Code on the back, to issue the Digital Traffic License for free and download it from the Apple Store or Play Store according to the model of your cell phone. But be careful, you need to enter the key to access the app.

If your driver's license was issued before May 2017, it will not have this QR Code on the back, and it is necessary for you to have your digital driver's license. But don't worry, just request the simplified duplicate or wait for renewal to have a new one to obtain the Digital Driving License.

    Taking the CRLV-e

In 2020, Detrans stopped issuing the CRLV on paper and now it is the driver himself who must download and print the vehicle document. As we mentioned, the CRLV proves that the vehicle is regularized with Detran and free to circulate.

To issue the vehicle's digital document, the licensing must be up to date and this is the main requirement for you to be able to print it. To pay for licensing, the vehicle's debts must be paid, that is, the IPVA, traffic fines and licensing must be paid.

To download CRLV on your cell phone, you must first download the CDT application. You need to have the CRV security code and Renavam number on hand. The CDT (Digital Traffic Card) is available on the Play Store or App Store.

Click on Entrar.com.gov.br and register on the home screen. Then click on “vehicles” and then click on “tap here to add a CRLV”. Enter the Renavam number and then enter the security code printed on the CRV – Vehicle Registration Certificate.

The CRV (formerly DUT), is the document used to transfer ownership of the vehicle, when it is sold or donated. If you have any questions about the procedure, you can also call 0800-728 2324.

If the vehicle belongs to a company, the service can also be done through the Denatran service portal. The only requirement is that you use the ICP-Brasil A1 or A3 digital certificate, issued in the name of the legal entity that owns the vehicle.

After entering the denatran services portal and logging in with the digital certificate, the vehicles registered in the name of the legal entity will appear. Then just click on the desired vehicle and then download the CRLV in p7s or pdf format. The document will be downloaded and you can print without any problems.
